Crochet – What Next! Adapting stitches and pattern reading
I have an exciting opportunity for what to do once you have learned the basic in crochet at Missenden Abby School of Creative Arts,
Do you crochet, but have no idea how to read a pattern? Have you crocheted in the past and need to be refreshed? Have you done a beginner’s course but don’t know what to do next… this course is for you! We will cover the basic stitches and techniques, and then focus on reading crochet patterns for a wonderful original design which can be made into a bag or cushion cover.Description
This course will consolidate your knowledge of all the basic stitches, dtr, tr, htr, dc, slst, but extend into spike stitches, post stitches, clusters, popcorns, standing stitches (to help with changing colours) and much more. You will be reading a pattern and finding out what it all means! And you will get hints and tips throughout to make your work easier and more professional.
You will be making a large motif square out of double knit cotton yarn. The kit with seven balls of DK cotton, fabric and pattern, will be supplied in the cost of the course.
There will also be time for you to bring your own project that might have stalled and ask Diana about any stitches or pattern reading challenges!
The course is over 3 days, at the wonderful Abbey, which has lovely rooms, amazing food, and beautiful grounds. Cost is £329 for Non residents, and includes Lunch, and morning/afternoon refreshments as well as 3 full days tuition, if you like to have a complete break, the 3 days cost £505, which includes the above, with Breakfast and evening meal too.
